Archie Pulse - Part 1
“Archie once told me that Yuppies come from Uranus, arriving here in 1980, invading London & infecting the city with ‘Etheric Alien Piss’. He also said that The Yuppie exists on a diet of coffee through a straw and human tears.”
Archie Pulse was written and put together by Paul with no crew whatsoever and no budget. All actors replied to an online ad asking for 'actors/would be actors with own camera or camera-phone'. They were then emailed a page of dialogue & directions, asked to film themselves at home and email the video over when completed.
Each actor had free reign to do what they felt and the results were received and edited by Paul accordingly, making use of whatever worked, served the story idea, was interesting, weird or funny. Paul then filmed (with proper cameras) and added 'Archie's Short Films', music, that disturbing/ satirical comic strip as well as dressing up as a spaceman with a super eight camera for a ray gun ... the result is 'Archie Pulse'.

Butterfly Women and Cursed Cassettes: Music and Video Shorts at LSFF 2011
'Among the films that were not music videos, one of the most interesting was Paul Cheshire’s The Cursed Cassette, which established a convincingly strange world in just one minute. A man receives a mysterious cassette in an envelope on which is drawn a moustache; when he plays it, high-pitched electronic noises and what sounds like a bassoon or a tuba are heard, while a moustache appears on his face. Weird electrical impulses are triggered and the man goes through a number of transfigurations; he multiplies and is transformed into a sinister masked figure. The Cursed Cassette brilliantly uses simple visual and musical elements to create an intriguing and evocative story in a remarkably short time. 'Virginie Sélavy

The Cursed Cassette @ 8th London Short Film Festival ( Jan 2011)
The Cursed Cassette
A mysterious package arrives at an ordinary mans' home on an ordinary evening. On the envelope is a childish scrawl depicting a moustache with lightning bolts emanating from either end. Perplexed, the man opens the package finding an unlabeled cassette inside which he is compelled to play; unleashing an evil rhythmic curse.
